Wednesday March 30th.   More sewing on curves, with corners; this time on florist cellophane

.. which turned out very slippery to work with.  Eight ovals cut out using a plate as pattern, then bonded together in pairs using a cool iron and baking parchment before stitching into a sphere.  Interesting to notice a fair amount of static electricity within the sheets of cello, making the oval shapes try to stick to one another.  I kept the sewing loose, using baseball stitch.  You can just see the stitching appear as spirals on this photo.   I’m quite pleased with the outcome; this pattern could be used to create butterfly eggs (yesterday’s sketch).  Photographed in a dark living room, close to a single strong spotlight.
