Yes, I am now two days behind with my daily posts. Anyway, I have been collating all my research information into a paper log but this video really deserves to be watched rather than described by me. London designer, Paul Cocksedge, demonstrates a technique relevant to Part 1, Project 3 – Heating and fusing. As a student he was given a project which resulted in the creation of the Styrene lamp, made by heating polystyrene cups in a domestic oven. The movement and transformation of the material, as it melts, is fascinating and crucial to both appreciating the process and the finished product.
